About

Honoring the Wisdom of Your Past in the Experience of Your Present

Family, and/or our first caregivers are the epicenter of the classical “system” which forms our frame of reference and influences how intrinsically “safe” we feel in and outside of our bodies, our attachment towards others, and how we are first taught how to manage stress. Being an advocate of holistic wellness, tracing the origins of my clients’ sense of safety has a great impact on the work we do together in counseling. When embracing the lessons that our experience has to offer, restorative balance becomes possible. Just as generational trauma affects one’s interaction with the world, generational healing can be the anti-dote. Some family members will not be ready to face their old wounds, but you can start and be the catalyst for change within the many systems you are involved in. My practice name was inspired by an assignment in my Graduate Lifespan Development class, titled “Restorative Balance,” where I had to clinically analyze my life from birth until that time. This assignment helped me recognize the value of sitting with the uncomfortable feelings that often accompany processing the past because I was able to better recognize how my experiences shaped the narrative of the "wounded healer" archetype that I hold today. My approach revolves around a collaborative therapeutic alliance between client and counselor through compassionate curiosity and a nurturing mindset to lay the groundwork for healing. I look forward to learning about you and from you in your wellness journey.
